About the author
The painter Lili Gluić was born in Split on January 6th 1956. She finished elementary and secondary school in Split. In the course of her schooling, life takes her for a period of time to Switzerland (Zurich) and Italy (Milan), where she gets acquainted withEuropean art. She gets married and moves to the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Deventer), where she comes into direct contact with the work of the greatest painters of theHague School and with impressionism in general, and to Canada (Toronto).
It does not take long before she starts expressing the impressions she has gained. As soon as her family commitments let her, her artistic talent finds its way and cannot be stopped. Lily has always pointed out that her first and the most important work of art are her five children whose birth and growing up have taught her that human effort, together with inspiration from God, generates indelible impressions. Lili intensifies her work and starts exhibiting with the help and suggestions of Fani Celio Cega, Ph.D.(director of the Trogir Town Museum), Ivana Prijatelj-Pavičić, Srđana Šenauer, Father Branko Periša and the late Anatolij Kudrjavcev, Ph.D. who all recognize her authentic talent.
Prvu izložbu priređuje u Muzeju grada Trogira, a likovna joj kritika omogućuje nastavak niza više od 80 samostalnih izložbi do danas, u domovini i inozemstvu. Na poziv milanskog galeriste izlaže u Ars-Italica u centru Milana. Gostuje sa svojim radovima u Galeriji El hogar-Lugones u Buenos Airesu (Argentina). U Hrvatskom domu u Buenos Airesu izložbom uveličava proslavu Dana državnosti, pod pokroviteljstvom RH. Danas njene slike krase prostorije Hrvatskog doma u Buenos Airesu.
Lili has also been engaged in illustrating books, such as the book of sonnets by Father Stanko Jerčić "Put Križa" (Way of the Cross), "Španjolske pjesme za djecu" (SpanishPoems for Children), and the book of poetry "Ići dalje" (Moving On) by Kasija Gruica-Kurtović. She is the creator and author of the Guide through Monastery and Church ofSt Frances, as well as of a number of posters and similar graphic products. HerStations of the Cross are adornment to the small Church of the Lady of Lourdes in Kaštel Lukšić. She participates in several art colonies on the island of Brač. The TownDistrict of Kaštela issues a calendar showing motifs of her paintings. She has also been engaged in art photography.
