About the author

The painter Lili Gluić was born in Split on January 6th 1956. She finished elementary and secondary school in Split. In the course of her schooling, life takes her for a period of time to Switzerland (Zurich) and Italy (Milan), where she gets acquainted with European art. She gets married and moves to the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Deventer), where she comes into direct contact with the work of the greatest painters of the Hague School and with impressionism in general, and to Canada (Toronto).

It does not take long before she starts expressing the impressions she has gained. As soon as her family commitments let her, her artistic talent finds its way and cannot be stopped.

Critiques

Izaberi tico bokun neba iznad moga grada

The lights and colors of the Mediterranean guide the experience of the scenery in the painting of Lili Gluić. Of course, the motifs carry their beauty, but the full vividness is achieved in the integration with the coloristic truth and the very concept of chromatic changes. Using an intense palette, Lili Gluić raises the excitement of forms, observed to the level of assimilation of the theme and atmosphere.

Stanko Špoljarić

Love for impressionism

"Technique and motifs are two constants in the art work of Split painter Lili Gluić. Acrylic on canvas and watercolor are painting mediums that the author continuously reaches for in order to express her deep fascination with the world that surrounds her and her connection with everything that makes the Mediterranean recognizable..."
